“Millions of Americans can’t afford rent and only a quarter of those who need government help get it.”
So begins a new podcast from FrontLine Dispatch. This investigative report from Dallas, Texas, shares viewpoints from all sides – the landlord, government officials, and tenants. It also does a good job of pointing out the complexities of providing safe, affordable homes for Americans, which is a hot button issue right now, but certainly not a new issue. But what this story highlights most of all is that the most vulnerable and those with the fewest resources have very few choices, and very little recourse when it comes to their housing choices.
