The Kitsap Sun reports that the county’s home prices rose by 13 percent in August, with the median price for a home reaching $330,000. But it’s not only getting harder to afford a house; it’s also harder even to find one. The Sun reports that inventory is down 19 percent from last year. For condos, inventory is down 25 percent.
As reported by the Northwest Multiple Listing Service, Frank Wilson, who is the branch managing broker at John L. Scott in Poulsbo, explained that “with more attention coming to Kitsap due to the new fast ferry system there is no reason for prices to temper any time soon.” He added that sellers waiting for buyers face another challenge because they really “have no place to move once they sell their home.”
